Planning, Designing and Developing Strategies for Your Site. Understanding the Planning Context

The planning process is a minefield and so are the products and services available to land owners, business owners and innovators looking to develop new initiatives. If you are working to redevelop existing buildings or planning a glamping park, holiday chalets or rethinking your farm buildings for a different business you will need to gain the advice and knowledge about the local and national planning context relating to the site. The feasibility and viability of your project is the first step, followed by developing design ideas that unlock the opportunities within your project.

About Barbara Griffin-Wright

Barbara Griffin-Wright is an architect, working on a wide range of projects predominantly in rural, historic and conservation areas. Currently Barbara is working on many existing farm building conversions and considers the reuse of buildings as a very sustainable approach to the built environment. Focusing on holistic thinking and the relationship between energy, ecology, landscape, planning and business Barbara works with her clients to identify opportunities and develop proposals most appropriate for the brief. Barbara has worked in the UK, Ireland and Greece on a wide range of project types. She is the director of a Lincolnshire based Architects practice, the Regional Chair of the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) and is also working closely with councils on housing initiatives to develop more sustainable and diverse housing strategies.
