At first glance, this may seem problematic, however, for the family attraction industry, this could become beneficial. In fact, Brits may be more inclined to remain within the UK for the holiday periods, meaning that staycations are on the rise! By keeping UK families at home, British children will be set to visit more family attractions within the UK.
Fall of the Pound
The value of the pound has been steadily decreasing ever since Brexit began, in 2016. What was a value of €1.30 before June 2016, the pound has now dropped to being worth €1.12. This decrease isn’t set to change, and many industries have viewed this as a major problem.
More Inbound Visitors
That said, it’s not doom and gloom for the world of family attraction. In fact, a no-deal Brexit is set to increase foreign holiday prices for Brits, making British staycations much more affordable! To add to this, many Brits are concerned over travelling outside of the UK due to Brexit, so they’re more likely to remain in the UK.
What’s more, people will also be more inclined to visit the UK due to falling prices, creating an influx at family attractions from Brits and Europeans. But, it’s not just Europeans who are travelling to the UK; it’s also a lot of Asian and American families too. This can be seen from the huge amount of Asian and American travellers on the Eurostar, crossing the Channel to the UK, compared to the French.
