Using Play to increase visitors and increase dwell time
About Beth Cooper
In her role as Creative Play Consultant for Timberplay, Beth has inspired attraction operators throughout the UK with her insightful and informative presentations covering all aspects of play.
A graduate in Children and Playwork, Beth Cooper began work with Timberplay as part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Sheffield Hallam University. This led to the creation of Simply Play, a freely accessible tool designed to support the development of better play spaces.
She continued work with Timberplay beyond completion of this project as a Creative Play Associate and now travels the country delivering informative and enthusiastic seminars to Landscape Architects and Industry Groups.
This seminar explores the world of children’s play, including play theory and alternative approaches to play. This formative information supports Operators and Managers in implementing an effective play strategy. In addition to equipment, this seminar will also look at the importance of utilising the landscape in any play offering. Case studies highlight best practice in outdoor play, assessing how effective provision impacts on visitor numbers, dwell time and secondary spend.
