Getting playful at the National Trust
About Anita Stevens
Anita Stevens has worked for the National Trust for eighteen years and is now the Experiences Programme Manager and the National Trust’s expert on play.
Anita has worked on the transformation of experiences at our places from developing new interpretation, to re-designing our cafes, and for the past decade Anita has led in developing the National Trust’s natural play offer. She was also part of the team that created the very successful ’50 before you are 11 ¾’ offer and continues to be a driving force in its development, as well as leading a programme to transform the visitor experience at some of the major treasure houses across the Trust
Over the past decade the National Trust has transformed itself to become one of the country’s leading family friendly organisations.
This session will talk through how the National Trust developed their core experience, introduced family friendly standards and developed innovative offers, including natural play and the hugely successful ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4’.
